Peter Fusaro
CEO, Global Change Associates Inc.
Peter Fusaro is an energy industry thought leader noted for his keen insights
in emerging energy and environmental markets. For over 3 decades Peter has
been on the forefront of energy industry change and has lived on the leading
edge of consulting in carbon and emissions trading and finance, clean energy
technology, renewables and fossil fuels. Peter is CEO of Global Change Associates,
a firm that he founded in 1991 to focus on the interplay and convergence of
energy and environmental financial markets.
Over the last 33 years in the international energy business, Peter assisted the US EPA with removing lead from gasoline in 1976, co-wrote an Environmental Impact Statement for LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) in 1978, helped set up the allocation procedures for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in the mid 1970s, participated in the creation of the first demand side management (energy efficiency) programs in the mid 1980s in New York, worked on energy efficiency programs at the World Trade Center and Port Authority Facilities in 1992-93, and advised to Toyota's development team on the Prius in 1997-98.
Peter was previously head of energy consulting at ABB Financial Services where he was responsible for business strategy, due diligence and IT solutions. He worked as consultant's consultant to Deloitte Touche Capital Markets group in New York in the mid 1990s. Peter was also partner to Energy and Environment Capital Partners LLC, a cleantech venture capital firm, from 2002 to 2003.
Peter is a noted international expert on oil, gas, electric power and environmental financial markets. He is the author of 15 books on energy and environmental financial markets. He has appeared numerous times on CNBC, CNBC Europe, Bloomberg TV, NHK, New Delhi TV, Chinese Phoenix TV, Canadian TV and NPR as well as being cited by the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, Time, Reuters, Bloomberg, Dow Jones Newswires, Washington Post, Houston Chronicle, Nikkei, and many trade publications including Platts, Energy Argus, and PIW. Peter has been selected for Who's Who in America 2007-2009 and Who's Who World for 2009.
Today, Peter is either a Board member or Advisory Board member to 7 cleantech startups. Peter is a member of the board of Clean Air Technology, and on the advisory board of EcoVerdance, EcoSys, EcoSynergy, Carbon Flow and Stonegate Energy LLC. He was a board member of the NYU Energy Forum for 12 Years as well as Council Member for the International Association for Energy Economics for 3 years and President of the New York Chapter for over 10 years. He is a member of Professional Risk Management Association (PRMIA), New York Academy of Sciences, and Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Peter is active with Carnegie-Mellon University's Steinbrenner Institute for Environmental Education and Research. In the spring of 2005, he launched the Forum on Energy and Environment which is focused on accelerating knowledge transfer on energy and environmental issues to students, academics, and the business community in New York City. Peter launched the Green Salon and the Global Change Foundation
in the Fall of 2008.
Peter received his Masters in International Relations from Tufts University and his Bachelor of Arts from Carnegie-Mellon University.
