Michael is an acknowledged leader in Sustainable Investing and has developed a unique set of tools that is helping to drive the industry.
He designed the SmartView 360 Platform, which powers sustainability indexes, rankings and research reports; including the NASDAQ CRD Global Sustainability Index (QCRD), the Global 1000 Sustainable Performance Leaders on Justmeans and the Southeastern Corporate Sustainability Rankings.
Michael Muyot was the executive producer of the SmartView Roundtable on Sustainable Investing in May 2010 hosted at the NASDAQ MarketSite. Michael brought together global thought leaders to “Crack the Code” of accelerating Sustainable Investing in the United States, culminating with the Global Reporting Initiative's Vice Chairman of the Board Sean Harrigan ringing the Closing Bell.
At the Wall Street Green Trading Summit, Michael spoke on the topic of "Building Financial Indices, Portfolios & ETFs Using Triple Bottom Line Metrics" as a featured panelist. Michael was also featured panelist and moderator at the 2010 Amsterdam Global Conference on Sustainability & Transparency, and presented as part of the Green Economy Roundtable at the 2010 United Nations Private Sector Forum on the Millennium Development Goals. Michael spoke to the American Bar Association for their Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources on the topic of Sustainable Business Practices and the Triple Bottom Line in the U.S. Market. Michael spoke at the Corporate Reputation Risk & Management event on the topic of "Proactively Strengthening Corporate Brand Value through Sustainability Driven Management and Transparent Disclosure of Sustainability Performance Metrics."
A Fellow of the Governance & Accountability Institute, Michael Muyot has been interviewed as an innovating leader on Sustainability & Investing by Fortune, CFO Magazine, Financial Executive International, IR Magazine, The Economist & Wired magazine. Michael has also been cited in The Green Economy, Green Nurture and regularly contributes to Justmeans - the premier social media platform for sustainability.
Michael was published in an E-Book from Harvard Business School (HBS): The Landscape of Integrated Reporting: Reflections and Next Steps. Mr. Muyot authored the chapter titled, "Sustainable Investing and Integrated Reporting: Driving Systematic Behavioral Change in Public Companies through Global Sustainability Rankings, Indexes, Portfolio Screening and Social Media."
Michael is part of the external stakeholder committee for Sustainable Apparel Coalition to advise them on shape how their index as a valued added tool to inform and assist socially responsible investing (SRI) efforts.
Michael has joined the Advisory Board of StockSmart to develop Social Ratings, and introduce “next-generation ESG” to guide portfolio managers on Impact Investing and assist with proxy voting while increasing corporate transparency and identifying strategic risks and investment opportunities.
